The Fund has a Board of Directors and an Executive Secretariat :
Board of Directors :
- The Board is composed of the Secretary general of the League of Arab States as chairman and eight members elected by the Council of the League for a period of 3 years which may be renewed. They are elected from the specialists proposed by the member countries of the League.
- The council of the Arab League decided in 1986 (Resolution No. 4564 dated 27/3/1986) that the Director General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), and of the Arab Organisation for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO), join the board of the fund.
- The Board of Directors is entrusted with the task of taking the necessary measures to enable the Fund to carry out its duties, particularly the following:
- To set up plans and to establish rules for their implementation.
- To study and take decisions for requests for technical assistance submitted by the concerned countries.
- To take measures to conclude contracts with the countries asking for assistance.
- To approve the annual budget and the final accounts before their submission to the Council of the Arab League.
- To fix the rate of reserves for the Fund.
- To propose the financial and administrative regulations suitable to the Fund’s particular nature of work before their presentation to the Arab League Council.
Executive Secretariat :
The Assistant Secretary General is the Director General of the Fund. The executive secretariat includes a number of departments which executes the policies of the Board of Directors of the Fund and counsel of the Arab league.
The counsel of the Arab league confirms the policies and budget of the fund.
